MICROSOFT EDGE has declared a new logo i.e. wave surfing the web. It’s based on a chromium-based edge browser. The main purpose of Microsoft Edge is to provide privacy with features like tracking prevention, ad block plus, control, and more productivity. Microsoft has implemented Google’s MANIFEST V3 changes in its chromium-based edge browser. It’s the current running news.

According to 2018 MANIFEST V3 is a set of changes to the Chromium –open-source browser engine and the web extensions API that updates the way in which browser extension work with chrome, BRAVE, OPERA, Vivaldi, Edge, and other chromium-based browsers. Google initiated its goal in improving the security and performance of extensions while also giving users more control over what extensions can do and which sites they interact with.

There are also complaints from users and even browser makers who saw that Google to tighten up its grip on ad blockers which effectively hurts its main business, online advertising. At the same time BRAVE, OPERA, and Vivaldi all announced that they would ignore the MANIFEST V3 updates so that their users could continue using ad blockers. The MANIFEST V3 in chrome began in October of 2018 trying to bring giant plans to bring a stable version of chrome this year. But the ads blockers are still worried that their products will no longer work effectively once these changes come to stable versions of the browser.

But according to the MICROSOFT EDGE team, these changes won’t make ad-blockers ineffective in its browsers. The software giant reassured extension or reduce its potential the ecosystem has. These changes reduce the time taken to review each submission and improve certification turnaround time, thus reducing the overall cost of developing and maintaining extensions.

They recognize the value of content blocking extensions and appreciate the role they play in honoring user’s choice by blocking advertisements & enhancing privacy by blocking cookies and assured that they want developers to continue to offer these capabilities. It rolls back stable version 87 and enforces Enabling sync by default across the enterprise.
